How can you make a difference?

People can become involved in Sarfat’s work through a number of ways, such as:

  • Financial grants.
  • Donations in the form of food, cleaning products, wall paint, clothing, educational toys, any second hand goods in good and working condition.
  • Volunteering (e.g. presenting different classes like music, art, crafts etc. to children or educational talks to adults.
  • Offering their professional services free of charge (e.g. plumber, builders, painters, carpenters, teachers, social workers etc.).
By becoming an active partner of Sarfat in the Bloekombos community, the donor is able to address a number of the urgent issues of our young democracy namely:

  • Improved care for vulnerable children in their own communities.
  • Development of and improved service delivery for under-resourced areas.
  • Upliftment of impoverished communities through quality skills training that will, in time, translate into broad-based black economic empowerment and higher earning power.

Donors qualify for a tax rebate, as donations to Sarfat Community Projects are exempted from income tax, according to Section 18A of the Income Tax Act.


Tax benefits: Sarfat is registered as a public Benefit Organisation (PBO930005488) and sponsors can enjoy tax benefits on donations.
